1911 Matches
First Sunday each month
We have started a new match for our revolver shooters – this is a match for Double Action Revolvers only and takes place at the Cowboy Range.
6 separate stages, 18 shots per stage
Match Fee: $15
Registration & safety briefing are immediately after the BIG BORE Double Action Match at approximately 10:00 am

What you need:
The only equipment needed to participate in this match is:
•
a safe and functional 1911 Semi-Automatic. All calibers welcome, but you
might get looked at cross-eyed if its a .22
•
3 magazines minimum
•
a safety chamber flag (available at MSI for $2)
•
appropriate ammunition (108 rounds minimum, 150 recommended)
o
Lead or frangible bullets only. No jacketed bullets or gas checks.
o
Maximum .38/.357 load not to exceed equivalent of standard 158 grain
.38 Special round nose lead.
o
Maximum “Big Bore” loads not to exceed equivalent of factory “cowboy”
loads.
o
Ammo may be checked. Lite loads are encouraged.
o
Ammo is available for sale at the club subject to inventory on hand.
There are several categories for the 1911 used based on caliber.
This is not an event for beginner shooters. While participants need not be
expert shooters, they should be knowledgeable and competent in the use of
their firearm.
Match Proceedure:
The
match
consists
of
multiple
“stages”,
each
with
an
array
of
steel
targets
and
a
“scenario” that directs the shooter how to engage the targets.
The shooter will fire under the supervision of a Range Officer.
Three
non-shooter
competitors
will
serve
as
“counters”,
tasked
with
counting
misses and identifying penalties.
The shooter’s score will be time plus any penalties.
Match
will
consist
of
3
physical
stages.
Each
stage
will
be
shot
twice,
for
a
total
of
six scored stages.
Stages will require 18 rounds each using 3 magazines loaded with 6 rounds each.
No tactical reloads allowed.
Guns
will
be
brought
to
firing
position
empty,
with
the
slide
locked
open
and
a
chamber flag inserted thru the ejection port into the barrel.
Loading will be done under supervision of the R/O.
After firing, guns will be cleared at the firing position and checked by R/O.
Guns are removed from firing line in same condition as brought to firing line.
