Attention Ladies!
Manteca Sportsmen offers a series of introductory classes especially designed for Women. Classes are taught by instructors who make the class fun and friendly. For beginner classes all safety equipment, firearms, and ammunition is provided. If you have your own firearm and wish to learn how to use, please fell free to bring it to the course. Once beginning skills have been mastered, Intermediate and Advanced classes are also offered. The courses are partially funded by the Friends of the NRA and courses are offered at a very modest cost.
Women’s Pistol I Class:
Instructor: Michael Gutterres
For women and young ladies over 13, who have never shot before or have limited experience with hand guns. Learn essential hand gun basics. Learn how revolvers and semi-automatics work. Learn how to stand, sight, and shoot .22 caliber and .38 caliber revolvers in a safe secure environment. We provide the hand guns, ammunition, eye and ear protection. All you have to do is show up with $20.00! Wear closed toe shoes and high necklines (hot brass lands in the least expected places). You may bring your own revolver and/or automatic and ammunition for it to shoot after the class with help from one of the many instructors.
Women’s Pistol II Class:
Instructor: Michael Gutterres
$20. For women who have completed the beginner hand gun class ( Pistol I) or women who have had similar shooting experience. The Pistol II class picks up where the beginner class left off. Bring your own pistol and ammunition or use a “class” 9 mm or .40 caliber semiautomatic handguns. Learn how different models operate. Learn how to clean a gun. Practice shooting a little faster and at farther ranges.
Women’s Pistol III Class:

$20. For women who have completed the Pistol II Class or women who have had similar shooting experience. The Pistol III class picks up where the pistol II class left off. Bring your own pistol and ammunition or use a “class” 9 mm or .40 caliber semiautomatic handguns. During this class we shoot at steel targets and you can experience the difference between a .38 special and .357 Magnum. This course also introduces basic “tactical” defense techniques – how to open doors, how to handle and intruder in your home.
Rifle 1 Class:
Free for women who have never shot a rifle before or have limited experience. Learn rifle basics, such as the different action types (bolt, pump, semi-automatic, etc) and how they work. Learn how to stand, sight, and shoot .22 and .30 carbine rifles in a safe secure environment. We provide the guns, ammunition, eye and ear protection. All you have to do is show up! You may bring your own rifle and ammunition for it to shoot after the class with help of one of many competent instructors.
Shotgun 1 Class:
Free for women who have never shot a shotgun before or have limited experience with shotguns. Learn shotgun basics. such as the different action types (pump, semi-automatic, break open, etc.) and how they work. Learn how to stand, sight, and shoot 12 gauge shotguns in a safe secure environment. We provide the guns, ammunition, eye and ear protection. All you have to do is show up! You may bring your own shotgun and ammunition for it to shoot after the class with help of one of many competent instructors.
Advanced Shotgun Clinic:
$50.00 for those who have completed the shotgun 1 class, or those who have a good working knowledge of how their shotgun works. You must preregister for this class in person at the club. Space is limited to 16 participants so preregister today. You must bring your own shotgun (spouse of family members may share). You must bring 50 rounds of low base bird shot/trap loads (#7-1/2 or #8 shot or similar), 25 rounds of 00 buck shot, and 10 slugs. You must bring eye and ear protection. Women’s Empty Hand / Unarmed Defense 1 Class:

FREE for women who have little or no experience with self defense / martial arts. Learn the Reality-Based Martial Arts Techniques That Will Save Your Life. Like everything we do, our training is based on real-world techniques of self defense and personal safety. Training that you can use in your everyday life. While some martial arts programs teach techniques that would rarely be encountered or used in real life situations, our martial arts program is street-wise and completely reality based. Our program is based on successfully integrating numerous styles of martial arts into one cohesive system. This system has proven very successful in defending oneself against single and multiple attackers, both armed and unarmed.
We practice one hour before each class. If you have been through the Empty Hand class you may participate in the practice sessions; otherwise, you are welcome to come out and watch.
